Curly Hair Instructions

New Client

For Haircut: Prepare for your appointment the day of or day before washed and detangled, when wet, hair. Fully dried in its natural state with no products other than a leave-in conditioner. Refrain from putting it up. Hair needs to be able to work through dry. 

For Color: Clean, dry hair. Fully brushed out. IF getting a haircut and color, follow haircut instructions 

Returning Client

Reminder to arrive with your hair according to the curly hair instructions 

(if they ask for a reminder then us new client delivery)

IMPORTANT: Make sure the client is booking a timeframe that allows them to do the curly hair instructions properly! 

If sleeping on their hair makes it really tangled, mainly for curly plus people, then they need to book to where they can wash day of and have it fully dry

IF someone needs help to have their hair fully dry add 15min and there will be a $15 charge to diffuse dry before the haircut

3b and up

Regular Haircut

Slightly wavy

If they prefer a wet haircut

If they normally wear it straight and have 2a-2c hair, otherwise it's still a curly haircut for 3a and up. I will style hair straight before cutting.

If someone asks what's the process or point of a curly haircut:

A curly haircut is a specialized dry haircut done on your curls natural state in order to provide a predictable shape that lasts around 4-6 months. (You can add some of the bullet points above) It's followed by a thorough curly diffused style and product analysis.  

Some questions to ask to decide which haircut is best

  • Do you wear your hair naturally curly most often?

  • What is your curl type from 2a to 4c if you know? 

  • Are you looking to have a haircut that is catered to your curls that will provide a predictable shape? (Great! A curly haircut offers just that!

2A/B: Slightly wavy 2B: Wavy/slightly curly 2C: Curly 

3A: Fairly Curly, nearly coiled 3B: Extremely curly, some coils 3C: Coils 4A-C: Coils with a lot of shrinkage
